George Gibson (1904-2001)

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland on October 16, 1904, George Gibson was a painter who studied art for several years in Edinburgh and Glasgow. After immigrating to Los Angeles in 1930, he continued his art Studies at Chouinard art School. For 35 years he designed and painted scenery at MGM while painting fine art in his leisure. His art career was interrupted during WWII in which he served in the U.S. Marines. He was a resident of Los Osos, California and active as an artist until his death on February 10, 1896. Working in oil and watercolor, his subjects includes landscapes and coastals of California.
