Frode Neilsen Dann (1892-1984)
Frode Neilsen Dann was a painter born in Jelstrup, Havbro, Denmark on September 10, 1892. Dann studied at the Royal Academy in Copenhagen and worked there as a restorer for the National Museum for ten years. He arrived in the U.S. in 1926 and soon settled in southern California. He was a resident of Santa Barbara and Pasadena through the 1960s. In Pasadena he worked as director and teacher at the School of Fine Arts and was an art critic for a local newspaper for many years. He died in Denmark in March 1984.
