A landscape painter, Frank Girardin Jr. was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on October 6, 1856. Girardin attended the Cincinnati Art academy under Noble and Duveneck. Most of his career was spent in Cincinnati and Richmond, Indiana. He made painting trips to Southern California 1910, was a resident of Los Angeles in 1911. And settled in Redondo Beach in 1920. Girardin was active in the local art world until his death in Redondo Beach in August 7, 1945.
