Eugene Maier-Krieg was born in Württemberg, Germany, in 1897. Maier-Krieg studied with Karl Deibele and continued at the Stuttgart Art Academy where he later became an assistant professor. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1924. After a short period in NYC, Maier-Krieg moved to Hollywood, where he worked for various movie studios. During the 1930s he worked on the Federal Art Project. His work includes architectural sculpture and portrait busts. His last years were spent near Heidelberg, Germany where he died in 1986.
