Christian Siemer was a muralist and painter born in New Zealand on November 22, 1874. Siemer settled in Los Angeles in 1906 and remained a resident until his death. He is best remembered for a series of mural-size canvasses of Los Angeles which were commissioned by the Chamber of Commerce to promote the area. An Impressionist, his compositions generally contain architecture. He died on February 6, 1940.
