After teaching for a few years in Los Angeles, she began teaching at Fresno State Normal School in Fresno, California. In 1922, she became head of the art department at what was then Fresno State Teachers College; she retained the title of professor emeritus at the school after 1948. By 1954, she had wed Clarence B.
