A portraitist, muralist and etcher, Geraldine Rose Birch was born in Sussex, England on November 12, 1883. Birch studied at the Slade School of Art in London, London University, and with Georges Desvallieres and Prinet in Paris. She settled in Pasadena about 1919 and was active there until her death on February 8, 1972. Her married name was Duncan.

Member: California Art Club; California Printmaking Society; Pasadena Art Alliance; American Federation of Arts.

Exhibited: Pasadena Society of Artists; Provincial Exposition, Victoria, British Columbia, 1932 (award); Golden Gate International Exposition; New York World's Fair, 1939.

Works Held: California State Library; Oakland Museum; Episcopal Church (Sierra Madre); Fletcher Aircraft Company (Rosemead, CA); San Juan Capistrano Mission; US Airforce Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
